Did you know that a new requirement is coming to all projects receiving federal financial assistance from programs administered by NDHFA? The Build America Buy America (BABA) provisions will require that virtually all materials used in the construction or rehabilitation of a multifamily housing project be manufactured from American sources. The goals of BABA are to help boost the demand for American manufactured goods, strengthen the American supply chains, and support the creation of American jobs. Among the several waivers of BABA that HUD is employing includes a phased rollout. By and large, BABA comes into effect on any NDHFA-administered federal program on August 23, 2024.
