A self-supporting state agency dedicated to making housing affordable for all North Dakotans, NDHFA offers affordable home financing to low- to moderate-income families, ensures the continued availability of suitable rental housing for households of modest means, and focuses on providing for the housing needs of our state's growing communities.
Through a network of lending and real estate partners, NDHFA provides low-cost financing, down payment and closing cost assistance, and supports homebuyer education, More than 40,000 North Dakota households have achieved their homeownership dreams with the agency's support.
Property Management Division
Thousands of individuals and families of modest means live in privately-owned properties for which NDHFA administers rental subsidies and provides regulatory oversight. The agency's property management division ensures that these housing options are safe, accessible and affordable.
Planning and Housing Development
The Planning and Housing Development Division is charged with addressing the state's changing housing needs, including a shortage of housing for the state's workforce and low- to moderate-income households, and providing technical assistance to North Dakota communities struggling to address their housing needs. The Division is committed to providing financing for affordable rental housing and preserving existing affordable rental housing stock by supporting property improvements and extensions of rental assistance.
The Industrial Commission of North Dakota, consisting of Governor
Doug Burgum as chairman, Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring and
Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem, oversees NDHFA.
