The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) is committed to offering community leaders and housing developers with the technical and financial assistance they need to define local needs, devise development strategies and position North Dakota communities for growth.
Needs Assessment
Housing Market Survey Grants – a cost-sharing incentive program for rural communities to develop a local housing strategy.
Development
Construction Loan Guarantees - loan guarantees for lenders who finance affordable single-family housing construction in rural communities.
Low Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credits) - program provides incentives for the production and rehabilitation of rental housing.
Rural Housing Development Loan Program - short-term financing for predevelopment soft costs, land acquisition, site development and construction financing.
Rehabilitation
Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) - provides funds to purchase foreclosed or abandoned homes and to rehabilitate, resell, or redevelop these homes in order to stabilize neighborhoods and stem the decline of house values.
Helping HAND - supports new or existing single or multifamily housing rehabilitation programs.
Rehab Accessibility Program (RAP) - grants help convert single or multifamily properties occupied by low-income people with physical disabilities into safe and comfortable homes adapted for their needs
Rural Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program - low-cost loans for the rehabilitation of single and multifamily properties located in communities of less than 20,000 population.
