Frequently Asked Questions
I need temporary housing, who do I contact? NDHFA does not provide temporary assistance. All of our properties require that you sign a lease. For temporary housing, please contact your county housing authority .
Can NDHFA provide rental assistance for the apartment/house I currently live in? No. In North Dakota, county housing authorities administer the Section 8 voucher program.
Does NDHFA offer emergency assistance? No. NDHFA does not provide emergency assistance. For emergency assistance, please contact non-profit organizations in your community, such as Community Action Agency, or Salvation Army .
How does NDHFA calculate my adjusted monthly gross income? Your income is calculated as follows: Annual income less any deductions, divided by 12 months, equals your adjusted monthly income.
What if I am denied rental assistance? If an applicant is denied rental assistance, they will be notified in writing of the reason for the denial and their right to appeal this decision through an informal review.
